Christmas at The Bridge will be held Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at The Bridge, 905 Des Moines St., Webster City. The event gives those attending the chance to select a gift for someone on their Christmas list free of charge.

Those attending can also make a card and have the present wrapped in festive wrapping paper. "We have tables of gifts for people to choose from," said Marsha Halbach, one of the organizers. "There are toys, tools, clothes, candles, stuffed animals - all sorts of presents will fill The Bridge."

Halbach said Christmas at the Bridge will give kids a chance to select a gift for Mom or Dad. "No more kids begging Mom to take them to the store while she tries not to see what they are picking out for her. No more Grandma wishing she could buy a give for her grandchild if she could just stretch her budget a bit further."

Volunteers at Christmas at The Bridge will help each person pick out a gift, make a card for that person and then wrap it up. Halbach said the event is free of charge and no reservations are needed. Gifts for children and adults will be featured.

Last year, more than 300 people participated in Christmas at The Bridge. "We're hoping for a great turn out again this year," Halbach said.
